Hans Zimmer is at the top of the box office with Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, but Michael Giacchino has slots three and four. The No. 1 film of war-torn France for Warner Bros. roared off with a hefty $50.5 million haul and great response from critics and audiences alike. The project marks the sixth collaboration between Nolan and Zimmer.

It was also No. 1 internationally, acording to comScore media analyst Paul Dergarabedian, who pegs it at “$55.4m on 10,775 screens in 46 overseas markets for a global combined total of $105.9m.” Dergarabedian points out that the film is playing exceptionally well on Imax screens, who quotes Imax numbers of $11.710 million, for a per location average of $29,129.

No. 2  Universal’s Girls Trip, directed by Malcom D. Lee and scored by David Newman, took in an impressive $30.37 million in its opening weekend, “breaking the curse of underperforming R-rated comedies this summer,” Dergarabedian proclaims of the Jada Pinkett starrer of four friends who travel to the Essence Festival in New Orleans. Newman — the son of composer Alfred, brother of Thomas and cousin of Randy — has composed music for nearly 100 films. Angela Leus was the music supervisor.

No. 3 Sony’s Spider-Man Homecoming, earned $22.01 million in its third weekend (for a total of $251.711 million after just 17 days in North America). Michael Giacchino had the score. Dave Jordan was the music supervisor. Giacchino had a big weekend, also wielding the baton on the No. 4 film, Fox’s War for the Planet of the Apes. In its second week, the primate battle pic is now at $97.751 million in North America through Sunday. Giacchino also contributed the song “Banda on the Run” to Disney’s Cars 3, and was earlier this month awarded music duties on Disney’s animated Coco, a Nov. 22 release.

Rounding out at No. 5,  STX’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets marks the first collaboration between director Luc Besson and seven-time Oscar nominee Alexandre Desplat (who won for 2014’s Grand Budapest Hotel). The film took in $17.02 million at 3,553 locations this weekend.

10. Wish Upon (Broad Green)  Score by tomandandy; Music supervisor, Alexandra Patsavas; $2.477 million ($10.5 million total through its second week)
