‘La La Land’ Scores 4 Hollywood Music in Media Noms

Damien Chazelle’s song-and-dance musical  romance La La Land tops the list of Hollywood Music in Media Awards nominations, with four, including Best Original Feature Film Score for composer Justin Hurwitz, a Best Music Supervision entry for Steven Gizicki, Jason Ruder, and Best Song nods to “Audition” and “City of Stars.”

Tied with three nominations each are Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad, Disney’s Moana and DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls.

The 7th Annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards will take place Nov. 17 at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood. A leading showcase for excellence in film, television, videogames and commercials, the HMMA honors mainstream and emerging artists around the globe.

Nominees are compiled by a body of working professionals in a range of music-specific and related fields. Winners are selected by members of the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL), The Television Academy, the AMPAS Music Branch, NARAS, and other executives and experts.
