It’s among the oddest of superhero comics, and the musical journey for the Disney/Marvel feature film Dr. Strange promises to be no less fantastic, judging by the trailer. Elegant other-worldliness is his specialty, as evidenced by Star Trek Beyond, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Inside Out. Giacchino has almost 75 feature film credits, and you can hear much of it at Pandora, where his work is described as featuring “demanding instrumental part-writing, melodic horn lines, thru composed melodic style, acoustic sonority and minor key tonality.” Giacchino still scores the occasional videogame, which is how he got his start. Upcoming on his dance card: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, War for the Planet of the Apes and The Incredibles 2. Dr. Strange hits theaters Nov. 4.
