Composer Ramin Djawadi’s epic “Gears of War 4” soundtrack streams to fans

The “Gears of War 4” soundrack by Ramin Djawadi will be available Oct. 18 from Sumthing Else Music Works, a record label founded on releasing video game soundtracks by pop music impresario Nile Rodgers.

Djawadi is currently touring in support of the soundtrack for HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” for which he’s become something of a media sensation. He’s also created epic scores for the films Pacific Rim, Iron Man and Clash of the Titans, as well as the upcoming Westworld.

Wired described his songbook as ” filled with everything from ominous doom-and-gloom tones to fist-pumping musical adrenaline.” (We like the sound of that!)

Developed by the Microsoft studio the Coalition, “Gears of War 4” continues  one of the most acclaimed video game franchises in history, and Universal recently announce it’s developing it for the bigscreen (after earlier adaptation efforts by New Line lapsed).

The Sumthing Else score by Djawadi will initially be available worldwide via digital and streaming with a physical CD release to follow on Nov. 22.  Starting today, the game’s original soundtrack is available to stream exclusively on Microsoft’s Groove music service and for digital pre-sale on iTunes and Sumthing.com and physical pre-sale on Amazon.

Renowned for scoring some of Hollywood’s biggest hit TV shows and films, including “Game of Thrones”, “Iron Man” and “Pacific Rim,” Ramin Djawadi has created a sweeping score that returns the franchise to the dark tone and intensity of the original and fuels the heart-pounding adventure and riveting story of “Gears of War 4.”

Djawadi’s compositions are intermixed with the sounds of the franchise’s iconic Lancers and Gnashers to create a sonic soundscape fans consider unique.
