The Steven Spielberg-directed film, starring Tom Hanks and Alan Alda with music composed by Thomas Newman, will be released on October 16. In terms of Spielberg’s dramatic directorial efforts, it is the first collaboration with a composer other than John Williams since 1985’s The Color Purple. It marks Spielberg’s first collaboration with Newman, whose work will also be showcased this year on Spectre, the latest James Bond installment (starring Daniel Craig and directed by Samuel Mendes, hitting theaters November 6).
