Michael Mahler creates the music and lyrics for October Sky, a musical stage production making its world premiere at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where it runs August 26-October 11. Set in 1957, the production is based on the 1999 Universal Pictures film of the same name, about the launch of Sputnik. Mahler, who is represented by CAA, is a Marriott favorite whose film credits include the 2003 short Handbook to Casual Stalking. Ryan T. Nelson, who was the music supervisor on the 2011 telefilm “Not Wanted on the Voyage,” directs.
