Composer Hans Zimmer will be performing on three continents in 2017, touring music from Gladiator, The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean, in addition to other crowd-pleasers.

Kicking off in Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on April 14, Zimmer will traverse the U.S. before heading to Australia and Europe, where he’ll play London, Paris, Stockholm and multiple cities in Germany.

Zimmer told the Associated Press’ Nicole Evatt that “for inspiration he looked to his favorite concert-going experiences, ranging from David Bowie at London’s Earls Court in the 1970s to taking his 10-year-old son to his first concert — by The Rolling Stones. ‘You’re supposed to aim for something that people will remember for the rest of their lives and all the good shows I saw did exactly that,’ he said.”

Zimmer did some European shows this summer, joined by special guests including Johnny Marr and Pharrell, who collaborated with Zimmer on The Amazing Spider-Man 2. “I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before,” he said of the dates.

Each performance will be split into two parts: The first will feature his classic scores to The Lion King, Gladiator, and Pirates of the Caribbean, while the second will include reimagined renditions of his work with Christopher Nolan, specifically The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception. Even better, he promises “special guests from the rock and pop world.”

The tour will feature a medley of music, performed on drums, piano, guitar and banjo, along with a full orchestra. For more information, visit HansZimmerLive.com
