Vidgames Resuscitate Classical Music

The Wall Street Journal has discovered the phenomenon of video game music-themed orchestral concerts, lending legitimacy to the phenomenon as it marveled about the fact that more than 5,000 concertgoers purchased tickets to see the “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses” when it stopped at the Barclays Center in New York City on Oct. 13 as part of its tour. The WSJ article also goes on to quote Nashville Symphony VP Artistic Administration Larry Tucker as saying videogame music has been integral in helping keep his enterprise solvent in recent times of economic challenge and stating, “I would not want to go through a season without it.”
