Commercial Tunes Make Summer Splash

USA Today spotlights seven pop artists making waves in commercials this summer: Halsey’s cover version of Tear For Fears’ Mad World for Taco Bell’s Bacon Club Chalupa; Ellipahant on Apple’s iPhone spot, which uses the hook of her Too Original (sans vocals); electronic sounds from from U.K. artist Sophie’s Lemonade/Hard for McDonald’s Lemonades; Judah & the Lion’s banjo-strumming Kickin’ Da Leaves for Nature Valley granola bars; L.A. band Phases’  I’m in Love With My Life for Hulu; Colorado-based Gregory Alan Isakov’s misty-eyed 2013 tune Time Will Tell for the 2016 Subaru Forester; and Jamie N Commons’  wailing Karma on multiple Hyundai spots.
